English is widely spoken here in Southern Spain so you should find it easy to get by. However-it is worth trying to learn a little, particularly if you are going to be working here or setting up a business. Luckily Spanish is a relatively easy language to learn, and there are many excellent books and tapes available in many book stores across the U.K.. Also there are many Spanish classes held in all areas of Spain, and most Town Halls offer free lessons to property owners. One course that I would definitely recommend you buy in the UK is Michel Thomas, available on cds and also tapes. I found these extremely good when I first came to live in Spain. I am able to recommend to you very good Spanish teachers. Also most town halls offer free Spanish lessons to property owners. |
